Support To the heroes currently holding the line for all of Europe. A Story of Bravery, Sacrifice, and Urgent Needs
Today, I want to share not only a personal story with you, and also a wish I hope you can help me fulfill. This is a story about my friend Andrii, an incredible talented Ukrainian sports journalist who has bravely set aside his career to join the army.

Andrii is the husband of one of my dearest friends, Marishka, and like so many Ukrainians, their lives have been profoundly altered by the war. They had just bought their first home together when Andrii was called to serve his country.

Now, instead of pursuing his passion and work, he fights on the frontlines as a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (3CY), defending his country, his family, and his future from the claws of the russian aggression.

Right now, Andrii’s battalion is stationed near Kurakhovo, where some of the most intense and fiercely fighting is taking place right now in the Donetsk region. Facing the enemy in such a hot zone means there’s no time for outreach, fundraising, or gathering resources. Yet, the needs of smaller frontline battalions are urgent. Unlike larger, well-known battalions or organizations that receive significant funding, smaller groups like Andrii’s often have to rely on their own efforts to raise funds. This can be nearly impossible for soldiers on the frontlines, who have little to no access to fundraising platforms and face risks when using personal devices that could be tracked by enemy forces. Furthermore, it’s a reality that not all battalions have equal support simply due to the reach of their members or personal connections—this inequity doesn’t change the vital need they each have for essential supplies.

To continue their work, Andrii’s battalion urgently needs specialized equipment for their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platoon, including:
- motors for Mavics,
- initiation boards
- reset systems.
- and a variety of other equipment needed for the harsh winter that is approaching quickly.
These supplies are crucial for conducting drone operations to protect their positions and target enemy advances.
The battalion has already managed to raise $5,000 of the $8,000 they need for these essential supplies. I believe that together, we can help them reach the remaining $3,000.
They’ve set up a PayPal account and a Monobank account

Andrii recently shared a video showcasing the work of the UAV platoon, highlighting two successful strikes on enemy targets. His video captures just a glimpse of the high-stakes environment where every piece of equipment can be the difference between life and death. (See the video in tweet nr 4 of the thread below)
if you’re unable to donate, sharing this message can still make an incredible impact. Raising awareness and spreading the word can reach those who are able to contribute, ensuring that even the smaller, hard-fighting battalions receive the support they need. By helping these battalions, we’re also helping Ukraine move one step closer to peace and victory.
Your support truly can make all the difference.
