How Two Territorial Defense fighters, Oleksandr Aliksyeyenko and Oleksandr Tishayev, held their position for 165 days under constant russian assault.

In Ukraine’s fight for survival, countless acts of courage take place every single day — but some stand out as symbols of unbreakable spirit.
Meet Oleksandr Aliksyeyenko and Oleksandr Tishayev — two men who share not only a name but an extraordinary story of endurance, brotherhood and incredible resilience.
Both serve in the Territorial Defense Forces, and for 165 consecutive days, they held their defensive position on the Orikhiv front under relentless russian assault.

Before their legendary stand, the two had already proven themselves in battle:
• Destroying enemy forces in close combat,
• Evacuating the wounded and fallen,
• Even shooting down russian drones
But from May to October, their mission reached another level of heroism.
Under constant fire, the pair conducted reconnaissance, destroyed enemy infantry, and refused to abandon their post.
Even after more than 30 attempts to rotate them out. The relentless drone attacks, and russian shelling made it impossible for them to get out. And new troops to even get close.
It was only in late October, under the cover of thick fog, that evacuation finally became possible.
Aliksyeyenko later shared that he managed to endure, despite injury,;
Thanks to the strength and moral support of his comrade-in-arms, Tishayev.
Their partnership — forged in the crucible of war — became their greatest weapon.
For their courage and unwavering defense, both soldiers will receive Ukraine’s highest military honor, the Cross of Combat Merit.
The presidential decree has already been signed.
Their story is a reminder:
Even in the face of exhaustion, pain, and impossible odds ; Ukrainian courage holds the line.
The fight continues. ✊🏼
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
Glory to our heroes. 🙏🏼
